Sorry if i sound stupid asking this, is it that we have to pay the enrollment fee to start registering for classes? or can we start doing that before the paying the deposit
@cbd201 for whatever it’s worth…I was denied at chapel hill coming out of high school…so if anyone knows half of what you are feeling then it is definitely me…so being accepted now means more to me. but wait listed means they saw something in you so you must keep that in mind. and it will mean more to you when you do get in. And you will get in. Delay builds character…
@eespos1 not sure if this is any help at all but I deferred my enrollment until financial aid just so I could get started with enrolling for classes…and also because paying the enrollment without seeing my financial aid package is a little risky for me also.
@dmimima mine says
“Because we want you to come to Carolina ready to excel, your enrollment will depend upon your successful completion of any courses in which you may currently be enrolled. If you are currently enrolled in courses, we require that you continue to achieve at the level that enabled us to offer you admission and that you have your final transcript sent to us as soon as it becomes available.”
@Gowolfpacks18 I’m waiting for financial aid too. Do you know when it comes out?
@NjTransfer2016 I don’t know for sure but I am hoping in the next week or so. It is to my understanding that they may request documents or forms depending on your circumstance and will give you an estimate of your aid until it is officially finalized. Which is fine with me because at least giving a range of what your package should be will let one know if it’s affordable…but I will check everyday starting tomorrow. Lol
@Gowolfpacks18 I actually haven’t been able to access Sakai yet either, but my ONYEN is working fine. Once my Heelmail finalized, my ConnectCarolina went kind of haywire for about a half hour. When it came back around, I saw I had enrollment dates listed on the right side, so I went poking around in academics, registered, and ran!
@eespos1 Yeah, I think you’ve got to at least defer the deposit (towards financial aid) to get started. I know there were payment options on the page, but I went with deferment. Not sure if there were any other options (like, mail it in later) .
@ShovelBum18 @Gowolfpacks18 did you both accept your admissions? Because I don’t see any charges when I click defer payments
@eespos1 I accepted admission immediately. I think. It was through tears of joy while being hugged by a multitude of coworkers
Hi Guys, Could anyone give me consulting for transferring to UNC?. I got accepted today, and as a Chem major and med school later on. So I would need to gain a lot of research experience. But I’ve people from UNC say that its a brutal competition to get to work in lab with a personal at UNC between Undergrads and Grads. Is that true? and does anyone know if I would significantly increase my chance to get into great med schools if I transfer to UNC from my small home school?
a professor* not personal. its a typo
Hi everyone!
Congrats on those accepted.
I applied as a rising junior in Econ. College GPA 3.7. SAT’s 1960. Strong EC’s and Rec’s.
They have told me that my application is still under review. Is it necessarily a bad thing if I haven’t heard back from them yet? I’m quite nervous at this point!
Last name stars with H.
@Elhopeful I also got the email. The only thing I can think of is that my application review got delayed because I had to write in an explanation for an education gap I had in 2011.
I applied as a rising Junior for BS in Biology. I have a 3.7 GPA. Strong EC and 1 Rec.
Read the email carefully it does say that your application may be incomplete, so I would call and ask.
Also check the to do list on your connect carolina.
@Elhopeful @transferstudentUNC It’s not at all guys. Don’t worry I was freaking out too. I called and they said not all colleges have released decisions. SILS has not reviewed all applications yet which is where I applied. So depending on what professional college you applied to, that’s why the delay. They’re just behind.
@KimberlyNStew I can only find the group from 2014-2015 is the group’s privacy under secret?
Oof, fam, what letter grades do you think would merit an admissions rescindment? Not gonna lie, I’ve been taking it easy and will likely end up with a slew of B-s to Bs and possibly an A-.
@Kraz4CocoPuffs It’s a closed group but you should be able to find it if you type in UNC Chapel Hill Transfers 2016-2017. Request to join and I’ll accept. What is your name?
@catlas2014 Saaaaame I’ll probably get a C+ or B- in calc.
@NjTransfer2016 Same here… I’m kind of freaking out. I took 6 courses this semester, and I will have one C in my calc class (my first C in my whole college career, so far) and a B in Biology. Do you really think they will revoke an admissions because of one C?… I’m not sure! Kind of scary to think about!
