Hello! My name is Carolina! I attended UNC Greensboro last year, but I took a year to attend the Air Force Academy Prep School. I’m super nervous to hear back from UNC! I wish you guys all the best of luck and hope to see you this upcoming fall!
@cescalante011 did you also receive the “gap year” email like us? Good luck
I think you guys are reading too far into this. I am sure your applications are being reviewed. They probably just weren’t able to verify in state/out of state residence from the common application.
For the record, if I am accepted I fully plan on creating a page for Fall 2016 transfers on either Facebook or Google. Assuming you are accepted, is that something people would be interested in?
@TranslationLost I would absolutely be interested in a Facebook page for transfers! Thanks for offering to do that! @gowolfpacks18 actually, no i didn’t receive an email like that! I guess its because the prep school is an academic institution!
Can someone chance me?
Currently a “senior” at a state school in California with about 90 semester units completed.
Applied as an Econ major but want to transfer into Business.
GPA: 3.41, 3.71 in the first two years. Deans list for four semesters.
EC: VP Finance in my sorority, Internship at a local magazine, and worked three jobs
Two LORs. One from a professor and one from an advisor.
Gap of one semester (Fall 2015)
I lost my father last February and my grandfather in October, which I included in my essays. Moved to the RDU area in July to be with my family and decided to apply to schools here even though it may take longer to finish my degree. Born out of the U.S.(Asia).
I’m really nervous. Hoping I get in.
@Jdrew153 3.44 GPA is competitive in UNC Chapel Hill. You just have to show to be well-rounded & maturity. Even if you don’t get in, it isn’t the end of the world. Honestly, it seems to me transfer admissions is easier than freshmen.
Anyone have any guesses (other than “mid-April”) as to when we should be expecting our decisions?
Well, I woke up to an email about a new post on the admissions blog entitled “How to View Your Decision When Available.” I remember reading somewhere that this blog post typically popped up the day before the first wave of decisions. But I have also never seen decisions released earlier than the 9th of April, so this seems much to early and I am not sure what to make of it. Super exited though!
^^^^^correction… I just checked the blog. Last year this post was made on the 6th and decisions were posted on the 9th. Best guess is decisions are released on Monday the 4th, because I doubt they would be released on a weekend. And in my enduring neuroticism, 04/09/15 was also a Monday. Ok, I need to focus on this research paper now.
April 4th seems so early to get the decision though?! It would be awesome if we found out that early!
I hate to be a party pooper, but I think that the UNC blog post this morning surrounding checking your decision was for the first-year applicants as they still have not yet received their decisions for the regular decision application cycle. Usually, when UNC post the how to check your decisions for transfer students they title the blog: “Transfer Students: How to Check Your Decision.” So I am not sure if they are quite ready with our decisions but it will be also if they are! If not, hang in there, late next week or the week after seem like they could be our time! Best of luck everyone <3
haha, no sweat @cmartin12. I was just returning to say exactly that. Somehow anything other than transfer admission has completely escaped my mind. This is what I get for trying to find an excuse to procrastinate even more on this take home midterm.
About the same. I believe % wise. But gpa at a cc from my experience isnt a good indicator. Atleast from school to school. Some just give you A’s and others make you work for it. The cc im at now has tougher courses than the surrounding universities supposedly. Ive been to several and this one is definitely not missing a beat.
Regular decision came out at 4pm. Crap were next!!
Right. 2 weeks or less until our decisions are here. I’ve slowly but surely realized it isn’t worth stressing over…what’s meant to be will be. Always.
Last year I was emailed the day before decisions came out also I wouldn’t expect anything until the 5th at earliest
Yea i believe its gonna be the 11th thru the 13th. Favoring the 12th or 13th
We’re officially in Decision month!!!
Is anyone here independent in terms of fafsa?? How much financial aid do you think they will give us transfers if accepted? I know they claim to meet full need but not sure if that applies to transfers…
I’m in the same boat. I do know that we are offered less “merit” scholarships than freshman…
