<p>So I've contacted a family friend who works at NIH who is willing to take me as an unpaid intern this summer and I've visited her lab a few times and worked out a schedule for the summer. However, a friend who is in a similar situation (though she's working at a different institute) told me that she had to complete a packet of forms to register as an unpaid intern. For anyone whose worked at NIH in the past as an unpaid intern, what's the process to register as an unpaid intern? Does it differ between institutes?</p>
