I'm a high school senior. I currently live in las vegas, nv. My dream is to become a chemical engineer. I have two questions. UNLV doesn't offer a chemical engineering program. If I choose to major in mechanical engineering at unlv or a similar major would I still be able to get a chemical engineering job after colleg? Also, which school is academically better and at which school will I have a better chance of having a job sooner after I graduate? Thank you in advance.

no, you’d need chemE or go for a specialized advanced degree.
Reno is better, but both are so-so (among the worst public flagships in the US). What are your stats (GPA, number of AP courses, SAT/ACT score)?
