You people are bitter.

We taste bitter too. Morningside Hates.

Oh wow. So this is why this thread has been alive for so long, uh. Never clicked it assuming it to be standard application jitters.

Hate to embrace the ****** within but i genuinely think that these were the most helpful posts you received:

“Wow, this is one of the most pretentious, self-serving and pseudointellectual posts I’ve ever seen on any message board.”

“[t]hey don’t want some psychoanalytical meta-game.”

“your texts aren’t as obscure and esoteric as you think.”

You’re making a mountain out of a molehill here…no, not even a molehill, an ingrown hair. This is the equivalent of creating geographic elevation of sizeable size out of an ingrown hair! Just list what you’ve read in the past year. That’s it.

Don’t try to guess their thought process or to tell a story through the order of books. List what you read. Say it with me: List what you read! Mine included blogs, Colbert’s ‘I are America’, a book on fixing a car engine, and a ‘For Dummies’ book.

a) They don’t pay nearly as much attention to this as you do. It’s just to see what you read to confirm or surprise them based on preconceived notions they’ll make regarding your profile and that you can’t begin to predict.

b) I don’t think there exists a single file in the history of Columbia where the tipping point of an admission was the reading list. It’s as superficial as sending them your picture (which for the record had me looking like I had a finger shoved up my butt at a party…I think Denzera may have seen it).

c) Your reading list is not nearly as bold or eclectic as you’d like to believe. Really. Get over yourself was my first impression here (which I’m sure is inaccurate; this is just in the interest of full disclosure).

d) If you feel that you come off a bit too stiff or rehearsed by being truthful, dig hard into your brain and try to remember other things that you have read this year (magazines, articles, etc…). I’m sure you’ve read something else. Just be truthful.

Best of luck!

Nah, I avoid most of the chances threads, but figured that anyone who would use the phrase “literary itinerary” had to be a piece of work and was intrigued.

we’ll just stay on for as long as we can :)

probably true, but i’m kinky like that.

lol you guys are great
