Unresponsive Offices?

Has anyone had a problem with either the Office of financial aid or the office of admissions within the last week? I keep calling (within their business hours, as they wonderfully keep reminding me) yet I ALWAYS get a message. I refuse to beleive that they are THAT busy not to be able to pick up call each time I've called (around 6 times). I've left a message or two to no avail.

The problem is that I've been trying to get a credit card, but they need my college ID or tuition bill. Since obviously i don't have a tuition bill, I need my ID. Anyone have any suggestions as far as that is concerned?

send an email?

Send an email to your admissions counselor; they're usually much more helpful.

i know that they wont give you your id until july anyway. i need one to buy a computer through the u store, but i wont be able to do that until july.

Keep your eye on dell coupons. Techbargains.com is a good place. Last year, we got a better deal with a coupon than through the campus store, using a coupon.

If you need a University ID to get a credit card, you are getting the wrong credit card.

Get an AmEx Blue Student, no student IDs or any proof needed, and the limit your debt to $2,000, so that you can never, ever owe them for than that.

No..there's no real problem. The credit card company just thought that I was already enrolled at the University. I called the company and I can just mail them a copy of my acceptance letter.

yeah but...american express sucks

AmEx is by far the best credit card to have. The one problem is that it is not as widely accepeted, but very few places don't take it. And a hanful of stores, like Costco, only take AmEx.

"The one problem is that it is not as widely accepeted"

which is why its not the best. It is a much much more business oriented card. For personal use, a Visa/Mastercard will be much much more usable.
