Unresponsive (rude?) interviewer

So way back in September, I was contacted for an interview by a school that required interviews (not naming names here...). I was connected to my interviewer, and I started emailing him about the details. I understand that interviewers are often very busy, but in my case, he only responded to my emails every 2-3 days, and sometimes left 2 weeks in between responses! While trying to finalize meeting locations and such, he never really confirmed anything and for the whole month of October, he stopped corresponding/replying to my emails. I decided to wait and see, as I did not want to seem pushy or rude.

Fast forward in November, and he finally (!) replied to my email, asking if I was available later in the week for an interview. I promptly wrote back with the details and we discussed meeting at a coffeeshop. Alas, after another 3-4 exchanges, he stopped replying to my emails again! This is very frustrating as I cannot get a confirmed date, and I have to hold off other arrangements due to this interviewer!

Has anyone been in a similar situation, and what did you do? I was contemplating emailing the school to complain/get another interviewer, but I did not want to create more trouble! This is very frustrating!

Any thoughts?

I would contact the school and politely tell them your problem without complaining but expressing concern. Good luck!

@bengalmombengal‌ thanks! how should I word the email? :open_mouth: I’m clueless and I really don’t want to offend anyone, but this is so frustrating!

Probably (I’m no expert on this) the best thing to do would be to say you have had trouble contacting your interviewer and/or have not been able to schedule a date for your interview with that particular person, and to respectfully ask if it would be possible to be assigned to another interviewer.

Just be honest and respectful :)

I figured it out! I texted the interviewer for confirmation and he finally replied /: thanks guys!
