unstable gpa sophomore and junior year D: what are my chances?

hey guys! so my gpa dropped from a 3.5 to 2.83 sophomore year and dropped from 3.83 to a 3.17 during my junior year. The reason for this drop was because i had a part time job after school during those 2 years and it was pretty tough for me to maintain my grades. so before my senior year begins i am planning not to work an focus on my studies. BTW, i didn't take AP sophomore or junior year (i know i should of taken them i'm such an idiot for that -.-) but i am planning to take 2 AP courses senior year (Stats and US Gov). my SAT score isn't the best either i consider it decent... (1780) lol -.-". but anyways if i could maintain my gpa in the high 3's or even a 4.0 what are my chances for UCI, UCSC, UCSB, UCR. thanks guys i just need a bit of a peace of mind :/ it's been bugging me lately.

you only listed UCs which are what I am highly interested in too. Unfortunately UCs only look at your sophmore and junior grades so it will not matter if your senior grades are spectacular (only if u get lower than a c in a class you will get deferred though) wait I am confused about your gpa, instead could you just list your courses and what grade you got next to each one (if any of the courses are honors go to the uc doorways page to see if they are weighted). UCs factor in how many A-G course units, gpa weighted and unweighted, number of honors/ap/ib/cl courses above all else (unless you have an incredible life story like how you don’t have any arms or something) so you are at a considerable disadvantage. I would say you might have a chance with UCR or UCSC. i would recommend retaking your sat. the last one you can take is the december one although apps are do november 30. also have you looked into state colleges? cal state colleges are considerably less competitive. hope this helps

oh silly me i forgot to say UCs also highly look at standarized test scores…and then after all that they look at personal statement
