Unsubsidized Loan

<p>Last year I signed up for an unsubsidized loan and i was given the choice of which lender i prefer. i randomly chose discover and i have already paid off the complete loan.</p>

<p>This year, I also was eligible for an unsubsidized loan which I accepted. However, I was never given the option to choose a lender. I actually have not even signed up with any lender, yet I noticed on my bar account that the money for the unsubsidized loan has already been disbursed. so my question is...
a) who is this loan coming from?
b) who do i have to pay back?
c) how do i pay them back?</p>

<p>Doesn’t the federal government lend through a servicer? such as discover or sallie mae? also, i believe i meant subsidized…</p>

<p>So from the link, it seems like we should be paying through the site: [National</a> Student Loan Data System for Students](<a href=“http://www.nslds.ed.gov%5DNational”>http://www.nslds.ed.gov) ; is that correct? My loan and grants from this year are not showing up on that site, but my loans/grants from previous years do show up. Is it like this for everybody?</p>

president obama signed some law that gave the banks the right to sell all student loans to the fed government, so that they don’t raise interest rates and so that students can afford it in the future.</p>
