I really want to go to Georgetown, but I'm really worried about some things with my junior year. I'm just finishing my sophomore year, but I will be doing a foreign exchange in Germany for my whole junior year with Rotary International Youth Exchange. Because of this I won't be taking as many AP's and things. I'm taking some college courses this summer at the local technical college to take care of some credits I'll miss.

This is how my first 2 years of high school have looked:

I was disappointed with this, but I have some time to retake it in Germany.

I haven't taken any, and haven't decided which to take yet.

What I intend to take Senior year:
AP Calculus

AP US History
Honors Psychology 101
Honors Chemistry
This is only if my schedule permits it. We have a 4x4 block schedule so scheduling is really limited. An AP class takes up two blocks of the eight we have in a year.

I have a dilemma though. I know Georgetown really encourages AP courses. I've taken the most difficult courses available to me thus far, but being gone next year I will not get in as many. I'm also anticipating that my ranking could possibly go down...depending on if those extra APs help or hurt the people below me's GPA.

Would Georgetown look at my year in Germany as a wasted year academically?
I want to go into Intl Relations or Intl. Economics, if that makes any difference.
