UPitt

Am I too top heavy or does this seem reasonable? Thanks

I would say the schools you named are reasonable, besides the Ivy-leveled school; who knows?
I assume you're an incoming senior. If you can, why not boost your writing score if you can and get a few officer positions in your clubs.
good luck.

btw, stop by at my similar thread :)

I think you're being quite realistic, if I may say so.

My only worry is that I won't get into anywhere above Bucknell on that list and I'm not sure if I would be satisfied anywhere below it. So, is there any other schools that I have a decent chance of getting into that seem to fit the other schools on my list. I'm not sure what it is about Bucknell and Lafayette but they don't seem like the schools for me (so I don't know why they are on my list) but I'm having trouble finding matches. Any ideas?

If you don't like Bucknell and Lafayette, take them off.

For replacements, try Dickinson or Gettysburg. They're similar on the very basic level of being strong LACs in PA, but they have a completely different feel from the other two schools.

And...if you'd been unsatisfied at your safeties, pick new ones. Sometimes circumstances come up, leaving people unable to attend their dream schools. If you end up having to attend a safety, it may as well be one that you like. Since you seem to like a close intellecture atmosphere, with an involved student body, why not try some of the Colleges That Change Lives schools?

What about Boston College or Boston University or Tufts if you want to get out of Pennsylvania?

Thanks for the advice. I think with Bucknell and Lafayette it is because they are so close. I kind of want to move farther. I do like UPitt though which is what I am considering my safety school.

Well, Northwestern could be a match / high match, if you're not opposed to living in Chicago.

It's really similar to a lot of the schools on your list.

Colgate too.

are you considering playing hockey in college?

I actually just added Colgate back onto my list. Northwestern got dropped but I'll have to go back and see why. No, I don't plan to play hockey, it's fun for me but I'm really not good enough.
