I am currently at a sophomore standing at a local college, and am having trouble figuring out my major. I have taken math, chemistry, all the basics and have realized that math is something that sticks with me very well, and so does chemistry. Because of that, I have decided that chemical engineering would be a great degree for me, since it involves topics which I am actually good at.

On the other hand, I have had a deep interest in psychology and the study of human behavior for as long as I can remember. My friends often ask for advice on a situation, or they ask me to 'read' a picture or that situation, and most of the time my analyses are right on the spot. I've also wanted to be a clinical psychologist for a very long time, but because of school and not being able to get a job straight from college, my parents have strongly advised against it.

Should I think realistically and go with the chemical engineering degree, or should I follow my passion?
