I’ve been able to interpret the prompt multiple ways, so I’m a little weary to start writing it. Any ideas as to what they’re are asking?
The Prompt:
“Oberlin is a place of intense energy and creativity, built on a foundation of academic, artistic, and musical excellence. With its longstanding commitment to access, diversity, and inclusion, Oberlin is the ideal laboratory in which to study and design the world we want. What does your Oberlin look like?”
Hmmm, that question is pretty oddly phrased. I think it’s kind of like “Why Oberlin?” and you just frame it in the context of what your version of Oberlin is. For example, an answer to this question might go something like:
“My Oberlin is a haven for the arts. I love to be surrounded by art, and between Oberlin’s amazing reputation in music and their program allowing students to rent paintings by famous artists, I can really see myself grow as a person…”
Or
“My Oberlin is a scientist’s dream. Classes like x, y and z really underscore Oberlin’s commitment to the sciences and their research in blank looks very promising…”
Of course, this is just my opinion, but if I had to answer this question, that’s probably how I would do it.
