Unsure what Race I should list myself as

<p>I am a son of Dominican immigrants and lived a significant portion of my life in the country. For the Common App, I put Hispanic.</p>

<p>Easy enough. However, not I'm sure what to put as my Race. Apparently, I could put Black, as Caribbean falls under Black. However, I don't consider myself, nor Dominicans as a whole, Black, but more mixed. </p>

<p>Now I'm unsure whether I should:
A) Put Black -> Caribbean.</p>

<p>B) Put Black -> Caribbean and White -> Other, and under the Other box explain how although I am of full Caribbean descent, I consider myself mixed.</p>

<p>Any thoughts/suggestions?</p>

<p>It doesn’t matter if you consider yourself mixed. If it’s an island in the Caribbean, then you are considered a Caribbean black. Check that.</p>

<p>I’d go with mixed / Caribbean decent - the more exotic the better !</p>

<p>I agree that Caribbean Black is the most accurate according to the US legal definition.</p>
