Howdy everyone. I’m currently capping off my junior year of high school, and I’m weighing my college options - namely, the University of North Texas and their stellar jazz guitar program. Now, I’m well aware that the guitar program is difficult to get into, but if possible, I’d like a bit of insight into the specifics - the audition process, questions and otherwise, and what I might be able to do to prepare.
P.S.: Some metrics on my current ability, if that’s any use:
I can tangle with most bebop standards and I’m pretty comfortable with rhythm changes. I have a decent lick library, and I’m working on expanding it. I know all of my modes of the major scale and melodic and harmonic minor.
