UNT vs. UTD

Currently I'm majoring in Hospitality management at UNT, but I'm thinking of changing to business (some type of management-ness). Stay at UNT or go to UTD? Please help thanks!

UNT is building a brand new business school, aren’t they? Probably means state-of-the-art facilities and that they are investing more heavily into their business programs. UTD on the other hand is a commuter-type school and the campus is ridiculously ugly. Their business program though has been getting relatively strong over the past decade.

If I’m not mistaken, after UT-Austin, TAMU, Baylor/TCU its UT-D in Texas. Their program is sort of odd for what’s typical in Texas though. In Texas, the BBA and a major is popular but UT-D has a BS with a concentration. Not a big deal, but I don’t think there are many concentrations available. UNT has a lot of different business majors. UT-D is pretty quantitative though. Probably a reason they are garnering more and more respect. Like UT-Austin, they require Cal 1 and Cal 2. I think even Cal 3 for Economics. I only know all of this because I literally checked out every program when I wanted to transfer last year…

Thanks, what about if I like smaller classes?

I think UT-D would have smaller classes throughout lower level and upper-level.

UNT should have pretty huge lower level classes, but they have so many majors, the junior and senior level courses should get a lot smaller.

UTD’s School of Management is really strong, especially if you can get in the Management Honors program. Lots of recruiters from the Dallas Forth Worth area.
