Unused Flex Bucks

Hey everyone,

Does anyone have any ideas on what to do with unused flex bucks? I really dont want the amount i have to go to waste. One option i read somewhere here is to get a gift card at the bookstore. Does anyone know if that still works?

Any ideas?

thanks

I don’t think you can use it at the bookstore, but you can go to the Trading Post in the union and buy nonperishable foods to take home (sodas, canned foods etc) and you can buy gift cards that they sell there. They might sell bookstore gift cards that in turn can be used at the bookstore. You can also buy school supplies at the Trading Post, disposable cameras, etc. Don’t let that money go to waste.

You can see if you can buy a Starbucks card at the Starbucks, an Einstein’s card at Einsteins, etc.

Last year a friends son bought a gift card at the bookstore and used it towards books the following year. Like “sunnyflorida” said…don’t let that money go to waste.

My D says that the flex bucks balance cannot be used at the bookstore, that if the card is swiped at the bookstore for a gift card, it takes money out of the Suntrust account not the flex bucks balance. But she could be wrong. But try for gift cards at the Trading Post or Starbucks or Einsteins. Or find my daughter–she seems to have no trouble going through the flex bucks ;(.

Haha thanks for the suggestions :)

Im gonna try and see if i can do the bookstore thing because i dont wanna be restricted to just one store, especially breakfast locations like Einstiens and Starbucks :/

I think Chili’s and the diner take flex bucks too. My son uses garnet bucks at those two.

I’m confused as to what the difference is between flex bucks and garnet bucks?

Garnet bucks roll over from year to year and you can get unused garnet bucks back when you graduate. Flex bucks must be used by the end of the year.

Yeah i use Fbucks at those locations too but thing is that i have a lot left and i need to get a way to conserve those.

Buy stuff at the Trading Post to take home, and/or try to buy gift cards at the Trading Post or at Starbucks or Chili’s or Einsteins or any of the restaurants for use at those restaurants later, like in the fall.

If you leave them on your card, they will be gone by May 2nd at noon.

Yeah but the thing is that i take the bus home, so i cant buy stuff at the TP

It seems we cannot buy gift cards at the bookstore with flex bucks OR at chilis (they dont sell them apparently). I am out of ideas and my parents are getting really mad at me for wasting all those flex bucks. Ive already taken my friends out and bought them all food :/

Any other suggestions parents and students? :(

Thanks,
satscholar

How about buy non-perishable items at the trading post like laundry detergent, paper goods, canned goods, toiletries?

How about pounds of Starbucks coffee or mugs from one of the Starbucks locations to use for Mother’s Day gifts or birthdays?

My son and his roommate will go out to eat with you on campus if you really want to use them LOL!

does anyone know if the flexbucks roll over from summer to fall term? when i bought them my mom made sure that they did but now we’re hearing different things. i have a lot left and i definetly do not want them to go to waste. please let me know if anyone knows anything about it. and is it possible to turn flex into garnet?
