<p>uca, I don't know when you graduated, but I see the "that kid" Ivory Tower crowd as a shrinking population, a population that ranks somewhere between small and nonexistent. It's a population that I expected to meet in spades here, and somehow I missed the boat on that one.</p>
<p>Maybe it's because they've been overriden by the extracurricular crowd, validating and structuring life outside the academic world? </p>
<p>Because nowadays I see Chicago as balanced between intellectual and non-intellectual things, at least for me.</p>
