Does an AP “A” still only count as a 4.0 on the unweighted scale, or is it a 5.0???

<p>That would depend on your school. </p>
<p>But yes, on an unweighted scale ANY A is a 4.0 (hence the unweighted part). Weighting involves raising the value of higher level courses. </p>
<p>The grades are broken down (I know a lot of schools do it this way) technically on a 12 (13 counting A+) point scale with an A being a 12 an A- being 11 and so on. An average is computed on this scale and then divided by 3 which creates a cleaner version of the 4.0 scale (technically 4.33333333333)</p>
