Unweighted GPA

Can someone please tell me what colleges see and how much this will affect me and my chances.???.
I got a

3.18 UW freshman year
3.86 UW sophomore year
4.00 UW junior year
4.00 UW senior year(1st semester)

Upward Trend

Cumulative UW(9th grade-11th grade): 3.64 (all because freshman year)
Cumulative UW(9th grade- 12th grade(1st semester)): 3.69 ^^^^^
UC GPA UW: 3.93
UC GPA W(Capped): 4.23
UC GPA W(Uncapped): 4.7
GPA Weighted(9-12th(semester 1)): 4.8

I am applying to UCLA UCB UCSB UCSD UCD UCI and Stanford in California schools

I messed up freshman year bad.

I am aware UC schools don’t put it in GPA and Stanford doesn’t either.

I am just really worried for my regular cumulatives.

SAT: 2350
SAT2(Math II): 800
SAT2(Biology): 800

What do you think? regardless of ECs/Essays.

I am also a California resident

You are a competitive applicant for all the UC’s and should get into most if not all based on your academics. Since UCLA/UCB are more holistic in their application reviews, it can be difficult to predict so it will come down to your essays. Stanford is always a Reach and again it will come down to your EC’s and essays as the deciding factors.

Good Luck.

@Gumbymom Is that also considering my cumulative(9-11)UW? or is it not so much of a worry. Because I match up with th student profiles(since it is based on 10th to 11th)

I could take some online courses that my school would enter as summer after 11th, so my Cumulative rises but my UC diminishes is it worth it?? they are AP/Honors online courses

GPA weighted 9-12(semester 1) is actually 4.5

Academically you are a competitive applicant. For UCLA/UCB and Stanford, it will be your EC’s and essays that set you apart and I cannot make any predictions on how these items will be received by admissions. Stanford does not consider Freshman grades so they will calculate your GPA based on their criteria just like the UC’s have their own GPA formula. All you can do now is wait for the acceptances and know that you did your best.

I hope you had a good excuse for your freshman year fiasco and made a case for that in your essays. If you did that well, I would put your chances for UCLA and UCB as Matches, otherwise:

UCLA/UCB - high match
UCSD - match
UCD/UCSB/UCI - low match
Stanford - reach

@uclaparent9 @Gumbymom would Bioengineering be a match too(or is it more of an impacted major?)

Bioengineering is, in general, an impacted major and as such your chances will be less.

@uclaparent9 how about psychology? I

My understanding is that Psychology as being part of the Letters and Siences department should not be any different in admission than any other majors in that dept. for UCs …and less competitive than engineering dept. which admits by major and is considered more impacted in general.

Is biology considered the engineering(or not)

@uclaparent9 I really appreciate the help to thanks!

Biology is part of Letters and Siences.
