Unweighted vs Weighted GPA

Hey CC,

I was wondering which one colleges prefer. I am applying for engineering at these colleges and I was kinda concerned about my chances because my weighted gpa is not as good as my unweighted gpa. I already know the UC's use their own gpa so I dont need any help with those. Anyways here it goes.

Major: Computer Science/Computer Science and Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering

UC Berkeley
UCLA
UCSD
UCI
UCD
UCSB
Cal Poly SLO
SJSU
University of Washington(Seattle)
UIUC
Georgia Tech
Carnegie Mellon
Cornell
USC

NOTE: I ALREADY APPLIED TO ALL OF THESE SCHOOLS

UW GPA: 3.92 (this is both for 9-11 and 10-11, I got one b every year)
W GPA(10-11): 4.17 (basically i only took 3 weighted courses in 9-11 grade, all of these weighted courses were in junior year)
W GPA(9-11): 4.08

ACT: C:32 E:31 M:35 R:27 S:35 Essay: 8 (NOTE this is not a chance thread, I just want to know which kind of GPA colleges prefer I just didn’t want people to ask about this so I put it up)

I go to a highly competitive high school(Rank 11 in California and Rank 56 in US) so basically my school offers like 20+ AP’s and I only took 2 of them in 9-11. I am taking 4 more this year but I don’t know if it will help. Did I just screw myself over at some of the top colleges???

AP’s
AP Physics 1: 4
AP Stats: 5
AP Physics 2 : 3 (self studied and not offered at my school)
AP Physics C Mechanics: Gonna take this year
AP Physics C E and M: Gonna take this year
AP Calculus BC: Gonna take this year
AP Computer Science A: Gonna take this year
AP Human Geo: Gonna take this year

The UC deadline WAS NOV 30.

@NASA2014 I know I already applied

I believe the vast majority use UW GPA combined with class rigor and class rank. UCs, as you know, are outliers.
