<p>Colleges usually recalculate GPA themselves because High Schools all use such different formulas. In the end you need to have strong W and UW, compared to the rest of your class.</p>

<p>they probably look at both. Your unweighted would say generally how you do in school, but I think weighted would be important b/c it factors in honors and AP courses, which, most kids take if applying to top universities.</p>
<p>I think both. because if you just take really easy classes and get a 4.0 it's not as impressive as someone who takes a bunch of hard classes and gets a 3.7 or something. so taking the easy classes would make your UW GPA really high..</p>
