I am an international student. My SAT score is 1390. My TOEFL score is above 110. I have a perfect average grade according to my country’s educational system.
The operative word here is eligible. Just because you were eligible for a $18k scholarship, it does not mean that you will get one because it is not a guaranteed scholarship based on if you have A your will get B.
The bigger issue is that you do not know where you stand in comparison to the rest of the pool. Remember there are a limited number of scholarships and as far as SAT scores are concerned, you were at the bottom of your band. Each school will do their own conversion of your grades.
@mom2collegekids I got 1390 in December (before applying). It’s from one sitting. My school’s grading system is honestly not complicated at all. I’ve had perfect grades every year of high school. Should I contact the International Admissions Office to ask for a clarification?
@sybbie719 Sure, I understand that the scholarship isn’t guaranteed. However, I think some mistake has been made because they took my grades way worse than they actually are.
What did you mean by “As far as SAT scores are concerned, you were at the bottom of your band”? The average SAT score at the University of Arizona is 1170.
@sybbie719 Oh okay, I understand now what you meant.
While I doubt my GPA converts to a 4.0 US equivalent too, I don’t think it converts to a 3.0-3.249 GPA either (which is how they converted it, it seems).
