UofT Application Process for US Students?

I am not sure what grades/act scores you need to get into UofT, as for my major ideally I would like to major in Business Admin (Rotman) what grades/act scores do I need to get in?

Toronto doesn’t really declare average class test scores etc.
Rarely any Canadian colleges do.
However rotman would definitely be among the most competitive faculties to get into.
I would say an old SAT score in 2200 and up
ACT 33
Subject test scores around 750
That would most likely be enough.
GPA also matters a lot.
Typically Canadian universities are more score oriented than those in USA and you need a few extracurriculars.
The application process is much simpler.
Best of luck!
You’re not too late to apply
Apply as quickly as possible to get a conditional offer of admission by Feb end!

@Littlebitanxious What about for Econ? I have a 3.67UW GPA (A- Average) 4.23W average (GPA with college classes I took included I took 11 AP Classes) ACT: 32 I got a 760 on the Math Subject Test and a 740 on the US History Subject Test
here is the majors I am considering: https://student.utm.utoronto.ca/calendar/program_group.pl?Group_Id=61
and: http://www.utsc.utoronto.ca/~registrar/calendars/calendar/Economics_for_Management_Studies.html

With my scores/GPA do I have a chance for these majors? I am not sure if I should apply if my scores are not good enough for one of these two majors.

I hope I can get in.

I’m not that familiar with the programs you listed, but I’m fairly certain you can get in. Are you sure you want the Mississauga or Scarborough campuses though?? Since you are from outside the GTA, I would stick to applying to Rotman.

@Sterny16
So my score averages were for The main campus.
Mississauga and Scarborough campuses will have marginally relaxed standards.
However, considering your grades I think you should also apply to the main campus as you have a fair chance of acceptance.
I think you’re allowed to apply to faculties.
Either you could apply to the missisauga and Scarborough or maybe to one of these and main campus.
You’re a competitive candidate!
Do check up on the number of faculties you can apply to. If it is three then no problem.
Best of luck!

@Littlebitanxious @bouders How different are the Mississauga and Scarborough campuses compared to the main campus? Like in America we have the UC system where the campuses located in LA , San Diego ,and Berkeley are considered better and more prestigious than the other campuses. Basically when we apply for jobs and say we went to the university of california, we also state the location because of the differences in prestige. on your diploma does it say University of Toronto or University of Toronto- Mississauga? I want some sort of business degree and I was unsure if UofT had a different program other than Rotman i could apply to for business like degree. I

Other thing we have in America for UC schools are the UC extension schools, for example UC Berkeley has an extension school, which is the same school as Berkeley, but it is in a different location, is that what UofT Mississauga, and Scarborough are basically or are they considered different schools entirely like UC Berkeley and UCLA.

To my knowledge there are three UofT campuses, Downtown Toronto, Mississauga and Scarborough, will the diplomas be any different or are they all considered UofT? When applying for jobs do you generally state the campus you studied at?

Sorry if this has some typos I wrote this on my phone, when I get on my laptop I can elaborate.

Just realized that the grades are 11 and 12 only lol. I got All A’s Junior year and so far 1 B Senior Year.

The downtown campus is called St. George. The three programs you listed will lead to 3 different degrees. Bachelors of Commerce (St George), Bachelors of Business Administration (Scarborough), HBA (or something else at Mississauga). Scarborough and Mississauga are in suburban areas and are mainly commuter campuses. St. George is much more vibrant. Scarborough and Mississauga are neither extension schools nor are they completely separate. Students at each campus can take a limited number of courses at other campuses, but in reality, this doesn’t happen much because of the time and distance between each of the campuses.

@bouders so are all 3 campuses considered University of Toronto, and for example, when I apply for a job I don’t say the location in which I studied?

Right

@Sterny16 I recommend that you apply to the main campus of U of T which is St George. Mississauga and Scarborough are satellite campuses and are far from downtown Toronto. U of T’s main campus is beautifully located in the downtown area of Toronto and when most people think of U of T, it is the St George campus.

@alwaysamom what major does St George have that is similar to Business Management or Admin?

Read #8.

@Sterny16 Look for Rotman Commerce, OUAC code TAC, for business at the St. George campus.

@bouders if I want to do business at st George do I need to go to Rotman?

@Sterny16 Canadian schools often call their business degrees “commerce”. UTSG’s undergraduate business program is Rotman Commerce. http://rotmancommerce.utoronto.ca/futurestudents/our-program/

There are certainly other majors within the Faculty of Arts and Science which would allow you to pursue an interest in business - economics, financial economics, statistics etc etc. Here’s a list of all the programs at U of T. Note that the campus where the program is offered is just under the name of the program. http://www.future.utoronto.ca/undergraduate-programs

@bouders what type of grades/ scores do I need?

@Sterny16 You are fine with the scores you have. The supplemental application will likely determine whether or not you are admitted. I recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible. Most Canadian students will have sent in their applications already and popular programs such as Rotman can fill up before the deadline. http://rotmancommerce.utoronto.ca/futurestudents/apply/supplemental-application/

@bouders thanks! I will update if on if I get in! Thanks for all the help. Is ACT scores considered that much? I thought I would do better on my act because I got a 30 as a sophomore and studied sophmore year and junior year summer, and found out it only went up one point from a 30 to a 31. My GPA is a 3.67 UW and a 4.23W and a 31 ACT. Math subject test score is a 760 and us history is a 740
