I’ve gotten accepted for both of them. I’m an international student. I’ve gotten a 15k award from ubc and will also take AP credit so that is another ~10k. I haven’t gotten any aid from UofT but my parents are willing to pay. Which uni should I go to? I would like to try to get a scholarship after first year as well. Is the disparity between the tuition worth the education from UofT?I’ve gotten accepted for both of them. I’m an international student. Both schools are very good in ENG, and will challenge you. It’s really down to what environment you wish for, West coast or East. Vancouver is a beautiful city by the ocean with a mild winter, though it rains a lot. Located on a peninsula which is slightly removed from the city. Toronto is twice the size, and has a colder winter. Campus is right smack dab in the middle of the city, with access to a good subway system. Housing in both places is extremely expensive, which is a consideration after the 1st year.
Both city’s are diverse, though Toronto slightly more so.
Both schools are very large. IMO, Toronto can tend to be somewhat impersonal, but UBC can, too.
If you can save 25K going to UBC I’d do that. The ENG school there is legit.
