I picked up a copy of UP YOUR SCORE from the library. Although it was an older version (2005-2006), it seemed pretty interesting to read and actually had a "Yoga and Relaxation" Chapter to help your test taking. Anyone read this guide before?

My friend read that book at it helped him a lot. He went from a 150 PSAT to an 1870 SAT just by reading it. He swears by it, but I never tried it. I am content with my score and I'm done taking the SAT.

370 points is definitely a big bost. That's like 120 points per section. It is possible if my friend can do it, but if your scores are already good (like 1800-1900), a 2100 might be a more reasonable goal. A 2200+ isn't out of the qestion though. It isn't going to be easy though.

also hepstar, do you know any other books that give great boosts to your score like this, but don't kill you with hours of boring practice tests, while you actually learn something?

Barron's 2400 is pretty short comparatively to other long SAT books and presents information in a short and concise manner. That is the best I think.

OH I bought kaplan 2400 (2006 Version- should i get newer?). The guy from CAEEA said kaplans info was presented more concisely? Is there a huge difference?

do you think it is capable of doing a lot to your score if you study it? I really want to buy it cuz it seems interesting and shows promise in upping my score... Anyone with a high score from using this guide?

I think it would really depend on your test-taking skills. I think it focuses a lot more on strategies and tips for helping you get through the test. they do have some study material for the actual test too though.

i say don't waste your time on those books..get books that show you HOW to do the stuff, rather than 'strategy-type' books...i realized that while i was reading the underground guide, i was enjoying it, but it wasn't helping me very much. it WAS helping me procrastinate from reading other more useful books if you get what i mean.

i say skip it. maybe you can read it for fun AFTER you take the sat :)

yeah..just get books that have the words "practice tests" on them :) don't get anything with "fast ways to own the sat" or "shortcuts" etc...catch my drift?
