Hello!
I’m currently a high school senior from Northern Virginia and my heart is set on the medical field. I applied to a few BS/MD programs and was unfortunately rejected from all except for one upcoming interview. However, I feel that it will be best for me to go the traditional route and attend an instate school with minimal debt. I am currently deciding between VCU, GMU, and UVA. I have been accepted to VCU Honors, GMU Honors, and am expecting an acceptance from UVA hopefully.
If I attend VCU or GMU, I feel fairly confident that I will receive a decent amount of financial aid and that I can maintain a high GPA and apply to their sophomore-year early assurance medical programs. UVA has great pre-med as well and the rigorous academics will prepare me well for med school. I love all three schools and just want to know from fellow CCers what school has the best pre-med pathway.
My stats are 4.47 GPA, 1510 SAT, 11 APs (mostly 5s), and have over 550 hours of medical experience and other volunteering.
Thanks for your help!
