My son has been admitted (OOS) for Fall 2017 and we plan to visit the University next weekend for a second look. Please share any recommendations for places to eat, see, visit while we are there to get the full picture of Clemson from the student perspective. We do have a tour scheduled and have tickets to attend the basketball game. Thanks!
You are more than welcome to contact me directly. Just PM me. My daughter is a junior, majoring in Packaging Science. The best way to really get to know what you like, is to drive/walk around. Honestly, as far as restaurants, the majority that most eat at are right down from the college itself, some off the beaten path.
If you like barbecue, don’t miss the Smoking Pig. Spend some time at the Hendrix student center. We usually get a coffee and sit up on the second floor in the lounge. Eat a meal in the dining hall. See if you can tour/visit Fike the recreation center.
Thanks so much!. We attended the open house back in April but 8 months and various school visits later, it is a little bit of a blur!
All good suggestions… If it’s a nice day, you might want to park up by the Rowing House and walk along the dike…(down to the left of the parking lot). I would definitely drive over to the lakefront campus recreation center just so you’re aware of what is available there. Clemson has received a big donation and will be further enhancing facilities and offerings there. And, would definitely second the suggestion of the Smoking Pig, a Clemson Institution!
Depending how long you’re in the area, Greenville (45 mins north) is a lovely place to spend an afternoon and/or have dinner. See the Riverwalk and enjoy lots of good food options! Go Tigers!
