Update: Decision Letters

im in western ny, and still no letter, so i suspect i’ve been denied/watilisted. How many people were accepted from the waitlist last year?

Didn’t get anything in NY yet, so it looks like I’m getting a rejection/waitlist, which is essentially the same thing, since virtually no one gets off the waitlist during a given year. Well, that’s too bad. Good luck and congratulations to those accepted! :)

After this rejection, it looks like it’s official: Dartmouth c/o '15.

Oh, and just to add: This wave thing is ridiculously annoying. I’ve been on “Step 5” on the site for a month now. You shouldn’t procrastinate sending a pile that solely consists of rejection letters until the 25th. It’s harsh to let rejected students have to wait in anticipation while a vast majority of their peers get rejected/accepted throughout all of the earlier waves.

My daughter got her letter today. (We live just outside Washington, DC.) Since her letter was in the last group to go out, we certainly weren’t expecting the fat envelope. Don’t lose hope!

Hi, perfumelover, what’s the date stamped on your mail? is it 22nd?

Date stamped 3/23.

okay, thank you, so that means they not only sent our mails on 22nd. still waiting in LA. And congratulations to your daughter!

Please ignore.

What you mean?

Why some students got an email while some others not? It makes me more anxious. People around me received their notifications through different ways. But I still got nothing. TT
Hope for the best!

I got nothing too… Still waiting, hope I can get it tomorrow,(bty, do USPS work in weekends?)

Emails only go out to internationals who live in countries where the mail service is not reliable.

Domestic students and international students living in the US will be notified via USPS. I believe that Canadians and internationals living in Canada will also receive their notification via regular mail service.

Hi,WayOutWestMom, does USPS work on weekends?

USPS delivers mail on Saturday, but not Sunday.

Okay, well then, hope I can get it tomorrow. Someone said their mail was stamped on 3/23, does that mean it was mailed on 3/23? I heard they mailed on 3/22.

MConklin said on the 23 that letters would be mailed for the next two days.

Also, if mail is stamped on the 23, it was sent by the UofR on that day. Mail, depending on where you are, takes a day or two (sometimes more).

a;dlfjklsa;dkfl;k OHMYGOSH I JUST GOT MY ACCEPTANCE LETTER.
YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW HOW SURPRISED I AM, I WAS COMPLETELY EXPECTING A DENY.
Postmarked 3/23, received in the LA area!

I cant believe it!
got accepted in Rochester. Post marked 3/25

cbeckett and alyssa, congratulations! Still waiting in LA!

Congrats Alyssa101! You just gave me a back a small bit of hope that I could still get accepted. Unfortunately, I probably won’t know until Monday if the letter was sent the 25th. I’m so nervous.
