Does anyone know when the Admitted Students Day is? Got the good news, and now trying to coordinate a few student visits to make the all important final decision. Congrats to all of you with good news, maybe we’ll see you there. To those of you still waiting, good luck.

Finally, after weeks of worrying, I got my acceptance letter! Postmaked 3/23 and recieved in the Seattle area.

I’m in the same boat, saetbyulkim! Hoping it comes tomorrow.

@MConklin

I applied for the biotechnology certificate program and was just recently accepted to U of R. Is it assumed that I was accepted into this program if I was accepted? Or would I of received info on it if I was accepted?

duffer–

You can’t actually be accepted into the certificate program until your sophomore year when you officially declare a major. To be accepted into the program, you must first officially declare yourself a bio/comp sci/BCS/whatever major, then apply for the biotech certificate program. Acceptance usually isn’t a problem.

Freshmen aren’t allowed to officially declare a major. You can start to fulfill the program requirements as a freshman, but you can’t actually be in the program.

Thank you so much. Your comments on my questions have been very helpful. It is evident youre very informed on all things Rochester.

I just found out that I never fully submitted my CSS profile! Financial assistance is vital for my attendance.

If I send it tonight will it be too late?

It wouldn’t hurt to send it. I had some missing components to my CSS Profile for a while, and sent them a couple weeks ago to Collegeboard but still got my award letter beforehand. I recommend calling the UR financial aid office though, to let them know what’s up.

Alright, thank you very much for your guidance.

Accepted as an international! ![]()
The letter was postmarked March 11 but I just received it today, perhaps because the letter was sent to my school and we had spring break last week.
The way I found out was pretty amazing. I was in the middle of class, bored to tears, when someone from the office walked in with the large envelope and called out my name. Being from a very competitive school, everyone in my class started "Oooh"ing and asking me to open it. I was reluctant to because I didn’t feel comfortable with opening it in front of my entire class but when I finally gave in when my teacher told me that we would not continue with class until I opened it. When I finally opened it, the entire class clapped and congratulated me. It was great! :)

Accepted at u of Rochester Engineering-is this program that good? My sons’ 8 for 9 he was waitlisted at Lehigh- Compare to RPI or U of Maryland scholars program also Northeastern? we’re waiting on the ivys-like who isn’t

While I can’t compare to other schools, I can say that the advantage engineering students at Rochester have is the flexibility to continue to pursue interdisciplinary studies in addition to a traditional engineering degree. Our Dean of Admissions mentioned this morning that he knows four students that have majored in Mechanical Engineering and History alone - a lot of our engineers are doing some really cool stuff outside of engineering. This also includes combining engineering and entrepreneurial studies.

I’ll let less biased posters draw comparisons to other schools, but what immediately stands out to me is the flexibility that our engineers have.

Still no letter - 30 miles south of the campus. I drive across it every day on my way to work. My older son works summers at UorR and it has taken up to 10 days for mail to arrive.

Ok, so I thought all the letters were going out on Friday? We are in MA, and still no letter here.

Does anyone know when/if they will update the “Application status” to display a decision?
