Hello,
So I am trying to see what type of changes need to be communicated to Duke after acceptance. I have been accepted. When I applied I was trying to decide between taking a Course in a college or do an internship by taking an Early Release from school. I had mentioned that I intend to take a college course but later I got a very good internship offer and I decided to go with that. The course I was originally planning was not required or has anything to do with my graduation. Do I need to update Duke that I decided to do the internship? I don’t see this as falling under any of the listed changes that we are required to communicate but instead this internship is a only plus to my application. I know people change/start/ stop activities second semester but don’t think they update colleges after acceptance unless it’s something negative when you are required to. Do I still need to communicate this ?
You don’t need to update them that you started or stopped an activity, but you do need to update them that you are not taking a class that you listed on your application.
If your transcript won’t match what you told them for any reason, notify them.
Thanks for your response! Could that be pose a threat to my acceptance? Could they rescind my acceptance for that reason?
They could but they wouldn’t. Just tell them you have a better offer coming along. If it’s a problem they’ll tell you.
The can rescind for many reasons, including yours. But in your case they won’t. Simply tell them that you have decided not to take the course because an internship oppy came along. As noted above, if they have an issue, they will tell you.
Sure will do, thanks!
