Hello Everyone. I wanted to let you know that the majority of our Early Decision letters (excluding Early Decision 2 letters) were mailed Friday afternoon. Most of our Early Decision applicants should hear from us very soon.

As always, let me know if you have any questions or concerns. You can also post questions or interact with other applicants, current students, or admissions counselors on our 'University of Rochester Class of 2015' facebook page.

Acceptance packet just arrived in Reno via FedEx. I took the packet to her at school because I promised I wouldn’t open it and I couldn’t wait to find out. She squealed and ran back to class <3 SO excited!

My son applied ED. We live in New Jersey and have not yet received the letter that was mailed out on Friday. Should we expect it regular mail or Fedex as the previous post indicated?

RenoMom… Congrats to you and your daughter! I know it must be a relief.

Townie45… Your financial aid info should come 7 days after you receive an admit letter. If your daughter receives a merit-based scholarship, she should get that information within 5-7 days.

4mommy… Some students are most likely to receive letters tomorrow, but you should not hesitate to call the admissions office if you do not receive a letter by the end of the day tomorrow. We’d be happy to confirm that your son’s letter has been sent.

Congrats all! It is honestly very rewarding as a counselor to read your excited posts. I wish you all the best of luck preparing for next year. Let me know if there is anything that I can help you with in the meantime.

Thank you so much MConklin for always posting on here. Seriously this message board has kept me sane during the ED process! Just got my letter today… could not be more excited!

@YoungAmerican & @ MConklin- I am currently enrolled at boarding school and I was not able to read my letter however, my mother drove all the way home in the middle of the day to read this letter. She best described the letter as above however was not able to tell me if this was a deferral of admissions. What does this letter mean?

We got the letter about ED2 as well. Unfortunately it requires withdrawing all other college applications. Much as we love Rochester we will have to wait out RD. I believe you have three weeks to make this decision.

Congratulations to all accepted-what a great school this is.

Hi, all - ED2 is an option. We will extend offers of admission to ED candidates that apply within the next few weeks. While a great option, please note that this is still a binding decision, so you must be sure that Rochester is your top choice if you choose to apply ED2.

Your financial aid information should reach you via postal services, not e-mail, within the next week.

Pepper03… You should encourage your son to articulate in an e-mail, through a phone call, or in some part of his application that he would have applied ED if not for financial considerations. Though it represents one of many criteria, demonstrated interest is important to us, and the knowledge that a student is excited about Rochester helps us to make more informed decisions.

I’ll pass that info along to him. His application is already done so maybe he can call or send an email and give the school that information. Thanks for the tip.

Yay!! I was soo excited when I received my acceptance package on Wednesday! Rochester was my first choice and I am so happy that I got accepted! I’m going to visit for the first time during winter break and I can’t wait to see the school. Everyone in Admissions has been so helpful and nice and made this application and waiting process so much easier for both me and my parents. Couldn’t be happier =)
