So a few days ago, I logged onto the portal and saw this update:
Thank you for your patience and continued interest in Michigan State University. An initial review of your application indicates you are a competitive applicant to MSU. Due to an increase in the quantity and quality of freshman applications, the Office of Admissions requires additional time to thoroughly review all applicants before making a final decision.
Admissions decisions will be released on a rolling basis, beginning in mid-October 2016. Our intention is to deliver your decision within 12-weeks from the time your application was complete; including all your supporting documents (personal statement, transcript and test-scores).
No additional information or documents are required. The most up-to-date information will be posted to your account as soon as it becomes available. Students will be notified by email when a change occurs on your account.
Thank you again for your patience.
I’m not sure if this is a good sign or not. I don’t think this is the same thing as getting wait listed since they aren’t requesting any additional time than originally promised. Also, a new button has popped up that gives me the ability to fill out my SBEI, which is a survey for students that have been accepted to state.
I’m a high school senior, with a 3.5 unweighted GPA, 1350 SAT Score, I have been a varsity wrestler every year so far, I have been all conference 2 out of 3 years, and all conference academic every year as well. I also have volunteer experience at a local pharmacy. My high school is regarded as one of the best in the state of Michigan and is located 10 miles away from Michigan State.
I don’t know if I should be worried or not. ANY help or information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
