Update once submitted?

Can you update your app once it has been submitted? Like if you were awarded an additional school or national award?

If you submitted your common app for one school but want to edit it and add more information for the others, see http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/common-application/588703-cant-edit-common-app-once-school-has-been-submitted.html</a> for instructions on how to create alternate common app forms.

Other than that, either contact the colleges you’ve applied to and see what their policies are, or mention the new information in your college interview.

You can’t edit it, but you can inform your schools of new information through their own systems.

stockmom,

I would recommend contacting the colleges to which you have already submitted your Common App and let them know about the new award. If you intend to submit the Common App to additional schools, then definitely create an alternate version, edit the information, and submit that alternate version. Best place for good information on how to do that is on the Instructions page within the Common App Online. It’s the top-most link on the left-hand menu once you are logged in to your application. Look for the section titled “Alternate Versions.”
