Essays:
Common app: I would give it an 8.5/10, my counselors loved it, but I would not say it was necessarily the best of the best lol.
Why Dartmouth: It was only 100 words, so very tricky to write. Talked about the art history program in depth, D-plan, study abroad (specifically the FIRE (study in Florence) program) and aspects of the community I fell in love with when I visited. I might give it an 8/10.
Extra Supplemental: Talked about how my inability to paint on large canvases led to my obsession with doing nail art/painting my nails. I also tied it to how I started my mini-business with nail polish in middle school. This is my favorite essay by far and it was very well-received by my college counselors and others who read it. I might say 9-9.5/10, but who knows.
Thank you in advance to anyone who responds!

tbh youre pretty stacked, as long as your essays stand out id say you have a pretty good shot

im applying too :0 good luck

Congratulations and good luck. You’ve applied - you’ll either be accepted or not. Leave it at that and do not think of your chances any more. By mid December you’ll know whether you’re attending Dartmouth or applying to other colleges. Until then, get those other applications together and ready to go, and then get back to your life.

Since you applied ED, your chances are well above the overall admit rate of 9%.

Your numbers are great & you have many accomplishments.

Congrats for getting off your ED application! You are well positioned and will end up somewhere great, whether Dartmouth or another school. Make sure to get your other applications done before you find out. You don’t want to be writing supplemental essays while feeling glum if you don’t get in. Hopefully, those essays will be unnecessary work, but you have to be prepared for Plan B.

Did you get in?
