Grade: 8th, applying for 9th grade boarding
Age/profile: 13, asian female
Location: Bayside, NY ( i know there are so many people applying from ny but there is barely anyone in my area)

Academics:
-Straight As on all report card,
Classes:

  • Algebra 1
  • Biology
  • U.S. History
  • English
    -Spanish
    -Dance ( this is considered a class that we get a grade on in my school, it is worth the same as a core subject class)

Awards: from the last 3 years of middle school

  • Debate awards;
    - 4,5,6 place in team of my division
    - 4 place in individual
  • My school doesn’t give out awards

ECs:

  • Student Council for one year
  • NJHS
  • School Dance Team (this is a team that you have to audition for)
  • Dance (outside of school)
  • Volleyball ( non-competitive, novice)
  • Photography
  • Videography
  • Swimming

Financial Aid: I don’t need any

SSAT:

  • i took it once 2109, 74th percentile overall, 77th math, 69th verbal, 67th reading
  • i’m retaking it and i am studying a lot so think it will go up

I’m from Bayside too! And it’s ironic that we are both applying to similar schools. I think you have a pretty good chance of getting into at least Loomis with your scores. However, if you think you can do better on the next test, go for it! It doesn’t hurt to try :slight_smile:
