lol smart school. My school is ranked in the top 100 and I didn't really think it was that great so...704. Yeah...anyway, what is your problem with your rank? You are around top 5%. I'd say your in. Maybe take the SAT or ACT again to get a higher score.

Yea, my high school was ranked around in the 6 or 700s on according to that Challenge Index crap compiled by Jay Mathews and it was filled with loads of kids who weren't smart, at all. Those high school rankings don't mean anything.

Your chances aren't great as an OOS student. Focus on pulling up that ACT score, try a practice SAT and see if you do better on that.

Also, UVA doesn't require SAT 2s... but it does strongly recommend them. That means you should take them. I'm not sure if you don't have to take them if you take the ACT, though. You should look into that.

WOW at that ranking system. Number of people taking AP or IB divided by number of graduating seniors...? How does that in any way tell you how good a school is. If you look back to 2003 you see all the scores for the school are much lower than now...why? Because now schools force AP onto students that shouldn't be taking such classes. That's such a ridiculous system it's not even funny.

ummm okay, but the fact that it won the top AP school in Oregon does say something I'm pretty sure...anyways, are you sure that SAT 2s aren't required?

Also, UVA doesn't require SAT 2s... but it does strongly recommend them. That means you should take them.

Especially as an OOS student, you really need to take them.
