You'll really need to work on that GPA. Berkeley looks at your GPA on a scale of 5, I believe, so uncap your GPA when calculating it.
Best of Luck

What are you guys talking about? The average weighted GPA for Berkeley is 4.17. Every A is a 4, and up to 8 honors classes get an extra GPA point. Btw, I had an weighted 3.9 GPA and got in. (My SAT was 2190.)

No, it's not really "out of 5", since you can't have a 5.0. The best you can have is 4.0 unweighted, and then 8 extra GPA points. (Don't know what gpa that is total)

You can take PE and Art classes for both sophomore and junior year, and if you have a school with only 5 periods.. you'll essentially have a (4*12)=48 unit GPA.
Add on your 8 extra GPA points, and you'll have a (56/12) = 4.67 UC GPA. Haha.

UC GPA is capped at 4.50; it only takes into account a-g courses and a maximum of eight semesters of "extra points" for honors or AP.

Race doesn't factor in. What's your class rank? It technically doesn't factor in but UCs like to compare you with your school. Are you in state?

ehtnicity does matter.... why would they allow blacks/ and latinos with lower stats??? cuz they take into consideration background and adversity or whatnot...

i should prob. add in that i've done 2 service projects, and 25+ hours of community service in addition to those 2 projects. and i've also joined the comm. service group thing too.

Regarding community college grades, wouldn't they have to be in the UC 12 course list to be considered for the GPA? Otherwise, wouldn't any community college class affect your UC GPA?

By the way, I think that UC's do consider race in admission decisions. It's not the only factor though.
