I’d say you’re almost definitely in A&S…whether or not you’re in Newhouse depends on how you do senior year, and definitely how good your essays are…Newhouse wants to see that you can write, but your AP Lang score should help that…

Interested in the honors program at all?

Yeah I think your definitely in. Maybe we’ll see each other next year! hahaha.

I’d love to be in the honors program but I just never really thought I would get invited lol. It’d be pretty awesome to get accepted. I applied early to Furman (but their Early Decision is not binding) but I just don’t know whether I should accept Furman’s offer if I get accepted in December or wait for my other schools (I don’t know how much money I would be able to get from my out of state schools, honestly).

personally, I’d wait…as long as Furman doesn’t give you a specific deadline (for admission or for aid) by which you need to reply, see what else is out there! SU, particularly CAS, is very generous with fin aid and you can at least use it as a bargaining chip, if not as a wonderful option =p.

Honors isn’t strictly about grades here…it’s about well-roundedness and academic potential. If you’ve shown a good questioning attitude in school, I’d say you definitely have a shot. I can let you know more stats about honors next week; I’m working a panel for them on Friday. haha, you should go.
