<p>Im not expert by any means but a 30 ACT seems a little bit low for rice.
You are in the lower 50% so that makes chances a lot less i think. I think you should retake it or maybe try the SAT.
With killer essays, recs, and and ECs you will have a good chance. I have heard Rice is very into ECs. So maybe this summer really get some good volunteer work going. But do something you really enjoy doing. It will be more meaningful to you and i think admissions look for things like that</p>
<p>If I were you, I would study, and retake the ACT to be a little more competitive. It's no low exactly, but it could be better.</p>
