Updates to an application

Hi! Is there a way to send colleges an update to my regular decision application? (is this even a good idea?) I just started a fellowship that I am going to be heavily involved with and I think that it would severely help my application. Any thoughts?

If you want to send an update, then send a very concise email to your regional admissions officer. However, I don’t know if I’d send this update. I don’t like the words “am going to be heavily involved with.” So far, you don’t really have any concrete achievements. How big of a fellowship is this? Remember: don’t dilute your application with unnecessary information.

If you choose to make an update, I’d also elaborate on a few other things (any other notable accomplishments, reiterate school interest, etc.)

In most cases you can email an update to the admissions email address, and ask that the info be considered along with the rest of your application. They will get it to the right person. Also reiterate your interest in the school.
