Updating Admissions

Hello. I’m currently a freshman at a local community college in my area. I applied to Smith last year and was waitlisted, so I’m working really hard to apply again in the fall and hopefully get accepted by Smith as a transfer. I wanted to ask – if I wanted to update someone in the Admissions office on my progress and information, who would be the best person to send an email to? Would it be the regional rep of my area or the Dean of Admissions? I’ve heard that this is a good idea, especially to show my continued interest, so I’d really like to show them that I’m still very much interested in attending and am working hard for it.

For that matter, any transfer tips aside from the usual general ones about grades and extracurriculars would be awesome. Thanks much!

Nobody with an answer? : ( I’d really like to show Smith that I’m always thinking of applying again, and am doing strong extracurriculars this time around to prove that I’m working hard to show that I’ve grown from my HS days. I just want to make sure that I share that information with the right person.

i’d say email your admissions rep and ask them what steps to take for transferring.

From my experience, also have your counsellor call Smith Admissions and discuss your case and advocate for you. My high school counsellor did this, and it made a major difference.
