Hello! I have recently submitted a research paper to the Regeneron STS competition. I was wondering if it’s appropriate to inform the colleges I applied to EA about this? Do I send this information to all colleges, or just the most selective ones (i.e. UChicago UMich). Maybe in an email? IS there another way to update that is better?
Also, I’m not planning to send my whole research paper to colleges unless I am chosen as a semifinalist. Does this make sense? I don’t want to overburden the admissions officers with a 15 page paper!
Thanks for the response! But what I mean is like do I tell them now? I don’t even find out about semifinalist until after RD is due… and EA acceptances have already been released. I’m wondering if it will give concrete evidence that I am serious enough about my research and worked hard enough to write a 17 page paper. But I am trying to determine whether it makes any sort of positive difference…or is it’s just annoying?
From what I have heard, unless the new achievement is significant - like becoming a semi or finalist - no point reporting it now. But again, I am not an expert at this.
I started a thread for the regeneron STS if ya’ll want to join…it seems as though from previous threads that the digital badges will come out around December 15-20!!!
