Updating colleges with new awards

My son just updated the colleges via their respective portals about his new achievements like Regeneron STS scholar, a new paid job as a software developer, etc. After that, he was selected as a Coca-Cola scholar regional finalist (top 250). Should he send another update now or would it annoy the admission officers because of too many updates?

He should definitely send the updates. Some admin worker will put it into his file, and the admissions officer will see it, and take it under consideration. And if he gets selected as a scholar, he should send that too.

Update for sure. It’s a game and a sales pitch. You are trying to show how you are the perfect fit for a school, what you bring to the table that helps the school and how after graduation you will continue to represent a school. So your son needs to keep putting his best foot forward and showing all that he has to offer.

Thank you @ArrBee and @parentologist for the response. He may get selected for national merit finalist and may submit a paper in the next couple of months (not sure of either). I heard a few places that too many updates may be treated negatively. Do you suggest waiting for a month to accumulate more (if any) and then submit?

If he has more awards expected, I may try to wait a month or two so as to not send too many updates
