Updating CSS Profile

I submitted my CSS profile in late January in order to meet school deadlines, so I was forced to use my parents' 2009 tax returns. A few days ago, my parents got their 2010 tax returns, so should I update my CSS profile with the 2010 tax returns? I am asking this because the CSS profile simply asks me to "estimate" all income for the year of 2010. If I don't have to update, I'd rather not since it's a hassle with CSS.

You may not need to update, but to be sure you should just email or call the FA offices at the colleges to which you applied and ask them.

It’s really a mixed bag. Of D2s six Profile schools, 3 wanted hardcopy corrections mailed, 1 wanted corrections emailed/FAXed, and 2 did not want corrections sent at all. I looked on the websites of all schools and couldn’t find instructions, so I ended up calling all of them. BTW, I sent corrections to the 2 schools that said that they didn’t need them because the changes are generally in our favor and are not reflected in FAFSA, so I wanted to be sure they had them.

The updates I need to make are definitely not in my favor. I guess I’ll call my colleges and see what they say.
