Updating SAT Score

I sent my app in early Dec.

I then greatly improved my SAT score on the Dec. testing date.

How can I update Harvard? I've sent in the official scores, but I don't want them to overlook my improvement since on the CommonApp I didn't even list my SAT scores (ACT was better at the time).

Should I mail in a note or something?

Thanks YOU!

I believe there’s a report scores button on the online personalized page.

You can also just send scores on collegeboard.com. Harvard will update to reflect them at some point.

Yep you can report them, and if you send them directly without self-reporting them they still show up. Still use the report feature just to be safe though…

The reason I know this is that I accidentally listed my Math 2 SAT II as Math IIC and it ended up showing the Math II and the IIC with an asterisk (unreported) next to the IIC. Oopths!

to report them, are you referring to some page on Harvard’s web site?

Make sure your interviewer is aware of the score increase; [if you haven’t had your interview yet with a local alum].

Get the name [or email] of your area rep in the Admissions office. If the interviewer doesn’t know this get a phone number for the alum who coordinates the candidate interviewing and call him/her, who will know the relevant Admissions rep.

Once you have the area rep’s identity contact him/her with the info … email or phone should be fine. I wouldn’t write or fax to a generic address; Admissions gets tremendous volume in January.
