Hey guys! So, i didnt find a waitlist discussion page for the UPenn Class of 2017, so i thought I would start one myself. I have currently been waitlisted at the Wharton school. Additionally, I am extremely confused about how Wharton approaches the whole waitlist dilemma? Do they rank students on the waitlist or do they put waitlisted students on tiers in order of preference? Also, what are the waitlist statistics for UPenn over the last couple of years? Any insight would be helpful! Thank you all so very much! And if anyone of you is stuck in the waitlist limbo like me, I wish you all the very best! I am sure you will end up end great places (sorry for the cliche).

I’ve been waitlisted too =/ at the college of arts and sciences. It looks like in the past, there are around 1700 people on the waitlist and about 50-100 get in. Penn was my second choice, and after being rejected by first choice, I really wanna get off the wait list =/

hey forprinceton! yea, I have been waitlisted at Harvard, Princeton, and UPenn so far. I am extremely pleased with that. However, I have heard that about 2,800 kids got waitlisted for Penn this year.

Yeah, I was waitlisted, too! It’s 2,800 people apparently. Not everyone accepts, though, so who knows? Best of luck! Honestly, I’m surprised I even made the list. Happy, though. At least it’s something.

I was waitlisted at UPenn CAS and at Dartmouth. UPenn is my first choice though and I really, really hope I can get in off the wait list. They accepted less people this year than they did last year so if the yield is the same as it was last year, more people should be admitted off the waitlist. I’m really hoping for 100…

Hi guys,

So I’m an applicant from India, and I was waitlisted.

Do you’ll think visiting the Penn campus would help my chances?

Hey guys. I am also on the waitlist for U Penn. In my case, I am for the College of Arts and Sciences. I’m really desperate to get into here. I got into NYU as well, another great school, but U Penn is a great ivy leaguer, and it’d be great if I get into there as well. I don’t know, what should I do to increase my chances of getting in?

@Accept3d, no, they do not rank students in the weightlist

bumpity bump bump

heyyyy is anybody giving up hope over here, haha Or is everyone on CC still fighting for a chance?

Btw, if someone was accepted off the waitlist (wishful thinking lol), how much time do they usually give the applicant to make his/her decision (whether to take the offer or not)?

I was waitlisted at UPenn CAS as well! I really want to go to UPenn because of their neuroscience program, if not I’ll go to Berkeley.

Yeah I was waitlisted. I’m remaining optimistic though! Penn is undoubtedly my first choice school, and I would be thrilled to attend.

What have you guys done so far to try to get off the waitlist?

I only sent a LOCI, and that was last week lol (yeah, I’m a lazy ass…). They didn’t reply at all, though, so maybe that’s some sort of sign for me to back off. :o

I am an International student, waitlisted SEAS but took my name off the waitlist. Going to another IVY, where I am admitted with generous financial aid.

Did anyone get an email response for their supplementary letter/refs?

Not me! It’s been one week and they didn’t reply. Maybe it’s just the way they do it?

Yeah accioknight, I think they haven’t started looking at our LOCIs yet. Perhaps they’ll respond with a “we got it” after May 1

i sent my LOC pretty early (at the beginning of the month) and i received a reply from my regional admissions officer a week later saying she got it and it will be added to my file. however i sent it in when the admissions office probably wasn’t as busy as they are now (with the majority of replies pouring in) so i wouldn’t worry about a response

lucya01995, did it seem like a generic response? Did anyone send in reference letters separately?
