um…it seemed that my regional officer wrote it herself but the content was really generic: thanks for your letter, it will be added to your profile for further review.

I sent mine to the eapps email because I don’t think I have a regional adcom hahaa. Btw guys, are you in SEAS/CAS/Wharton?

I sent mine to my regional officer, almost did both. CAS.

Ahhhh fingers crossed! Does anyone know when they first start taking students off of waitlist?

Usually the first wave of acceptance/rejection came around 19 May, and continued on until the end of June :)

I believe they start looking at transfer students now (after May 1) and then wait listed applicants.

For what it’s worth, last year, waitlist acceptances started going out on May 17th (starting with post #42):

Thanks, 45Percenter! Well, guys, the lucky few shall get rescued from purgatory in two weeks. I just sent my LOCI to my regional adcom because there is still no confirmation from eapps. Which college did you guys commit to?

anyone know when exactly we will hear from U Penn concerning the decision?

I’ve just sent an email to my regional admissions officer letting her know that Penn is my 1st choice. She has replied back to me before enthusiastically, so I am hoping she does so again. I know I’m doing all of this a little late haha. By the way, what’s a LOCI?

They already over-enrolled, lol ;)

I committed to Amherst. I really liked it when I visited a few weeks ago and although Penn was one of my top choices, I’m just going to stick with Amherst. I originally accepted Penn’s wait list offer but I’m going to give up my spot. To those of you who are actively pursuing their wait list, good luck and don’t give up hope!

wow that sucks

Wow, that actually sucks so much. Going to assume now that the wait list is essentially useless.

Has anyone heard anything from the admissions office about the status of the wait list?

^ Note this excerpt from the above-linked Daily Pennsylvanian article, which was published on May 4th (meaning that “next week” is now this week):

i’m just holding onto false hope but there are definitely some upenn students who committed who MIGHT get off another wait list. it does happen but yeah the chances are pretty low at this point

and is the target class set in stone? is it possible that dean furda could tweak the number a bit?
