General comments: Upenn has been my first choice and always will be my first choice. I plan to ED and apply to the college that will give me the highest chance of being accepted which I believe is CAS (correct me if I am mistaken).

My peers have said my extracirriculars are somewhat average. To remedy this, I plan to let the readers of my essay know about my passion for soccer and the commitment I have made.

What can I do from this point on until I apply to strengthen my chances? Thank you for taking the time to read this and I will appreciate any comments or constructive criticism.

In my opinion, for selective schools in the northeast, you should definitely take the SAT at least once. Other than that, I agree with your peers, your EC’s seem a little shallow, which is the same problem that I face =/. Other than that, congrats on the great grades and SAT II’s and class rank, and good luck!

Please chance me back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/725317-chance-scared-junior.html

Well, as far as I know, the importance of SAT Reasong has been diminishing. Nonetheless, it’s still an important factor for college and I would encourage you to take it. However, if you feel that it will not help your chances, don’t sweat it!

You’re one of many people I’ve met who have outstanding academic achievements but lack a bit of EC. I would put more emphasis on soccer (you seem to be really passionate about it) and try to gain a good resume. Show them what you love!

Best of luck to you ;)

I am confident you will get that 34. Good Rank and Rigor. What concerns me is that, as you said, your EC is slightly average. Show your passion for Penn and visit if you can. maybe consider retaking SAT 2 Physics.

All in all, a good Application (above average applicant). Some 25% are denied on ED and i think they would hesitate to throw out a Val into the R pile.
Average Val has like a 45% chance of admission. I would say you have an 60%.
Take this with a grain of salt though.
