state: NJ (school has good relation with Penn)

essays: common app is really unique and personal, why penn essay is very specific and personal

of course how could i forget?! My school does it out of 100/ does not rank but I have a 103.8/100 (weighted) and I can assume I am in the top 1% of my class (top 5 people).

The only qualm I see is that you are doing ED to CAS for Econ. A lot of people do that to try to get into Wharton, so make sure you are going for the right reasons and highlight them.

Very specific and personal can be good or bad. Your stats are pretty good.

I would be surprised if your score is 103.8 out of 100, and you are in the top 5 of your school. At my son’s school, that would be barely top 50%.

@rhandco the weighting systems at schools are very different, so at my school having a GPA even over 100 is extremely difficult. I am probably ranked somewhere from 3-5 in my class. It all depends on the school!

@Oberyn i really wanted to go to CAS to get a full liberal arts education, and i think econ is a perfection foundation. do you have any suggestions on how to highlight these reasons?

Your ECs are very nice, it’s good to see that you took up a lot of leadership positions (president of many clubs) and your volunteer hours are excellent as well. Your standardized test scores are also high and rank is good. I say you have a pretty good chance of getting accepted into UPenn, but we really never know with Ivies. They reject geniuses. Good luck!
